She realized that solving this problem with continuous high-quality feedback would have an immeasurable impact on employee satisfaction and retention.

Open role: Founding Engineer
CareerLark is looking for an experienced engineer to join our founding team and own significant parts of our technology development including writing and shipping code, helping with building out a team, managing other engineers including offshore contractors, and working closely with other team members to translate product reqs to technology. Our tech stack is cutting edge, built on Node.js, RabbitMQ and Redis. As a chatbot startup, we are on the forefront of applying AI and NLP to enterprise tasks.
This position is full-time and based on-site in San Francisco.
Kinds of things you would do in a typical week:
Write code. Ship code. Rinse and repeat.
Give the technical perspective in company strategy decisions and product development
Collaborate cross-functionally on finding technical solutions that take business and product requirements into account
Manage offshore contractors to build out new modules on top of our chatbot engine
Work with other engineers (including our Head of Engineering and junior engineers) to complete product sprints
Proactively identify future problem areas and solve for them
Critical skills for this role:
You are strongly competent in writing and shipping enterprise-grade quality code and tests and are able to roll up your sleeves and start coding right away
You possess strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, programming languages, distributed systems, and information retrieval
You’ve led a team of engineers, and you are excited to build a team from grounds up and comfortable managing offshore contractors
You are a great communicator and thrive in collaborating closely on a small cross-functional team
You are an entrepreneurial self-starter that others enjoy working with due to your technical abilities, positive can-do attitude, and passion for clean and maintainable code
You've implemented AI systems, specifically involving NLP and ML
You’ve developed enterprise SaaS software
You've worked in a startup environment
